About Honey Orchards

A Family Orchard on Sand Mountain

Honey Orchards is a family-run honey and fruit orchard in Henagar, Alabama. Every jar of honey and every tree we plant is part of a bigger story of faith, family, and stewardship.

“Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste.” — Proverbs 24:13

Our Story

Honey Orchards began as a simple desire to care for the land and the creatures on it — especially the honey bees that quietly serve our orchards and gardens. Over time, that desire grew into a small family operation on top of Sand Mountain in Henagar, Alabama.

We focus on local raw uncut honey and fruit trees, produced in small batches and rooted in relationships — with our community, with the land, and with the God who made it all.

Every hive we tend and every tree we nurture is a reminder that good things usually grow slowly, with patience, care, and a lot of prayer.

Meet the Family

Honey Orchards is more than a name — it’s the story of the families who have poured sweat, love, and time into this little corner of Sand Mountain.

From hive inspections to harvest days, they are passionate about creating something that is both practical and spiritual: a small, working picture of God’s provision and sweetness in everyday life.

Akela Barkley at Honey Orchards

Akela Barkley

Akela represents the next generation of Honey Orchards — growing up around bees, trees, and a family that believes in tending to both the land and the people around it.

Whether it’s helping with small tasks around the orchard or simply being present as life happens, Akela is a reminder that the story of Honey Orchards is still being written.

Our hope is that what we’re building today will bless the families, neighbors, and communities who come after us — one jar of honey and one season at a time.
